Missing OAP ‘murder’ hunt thumbnailPolice trying to solve the ‘murder’ of missing OAP Leslie White have moved their search for clues to Craigburn in the Ballycraigy estate. Two men are currently on remand accused of Mr White’s murder.

Police hunting for the body of a missing man believed murdered have carried out searches in Antrim.
Leslie White (69) disappeared on November 6, 2010. His last movements were traced to the Antrim area after a phone call to a friend was terminated in mid-conversation.
While no body or murder weapon has been recovered, an officer told Antrim Magistrates' Court last Tuesday (January 24) that 'police firmly believe Mr White is dead'.
Ex-police officer Bryan Rex Grindy and Andrew Craig McCallum, both with former addresses in Antrim, are currently on remand accused of the pensioner's murder.
Antrim police confirmed last night: "On Thursday, January 26 Serious Crime Branch carried out searches in the Ballycraigy area in connection with the ongoing investigation into the murder of Leslie White."
One local resident told the Antrim Guardian: "Officers were digging up a back garden in the Craigburn area. The fence was down and there was a forensic tent up for hours."
A police spokesperson could not provide further details regarding the locations of the searches but confirmed that 'a number of items were taken away for examination'.
Last week Grindy was refused bail due to fears he 'may interfere with outstanding evidence'.
