A MIGRANT worker who was ordered to pay £3,000 'protection money' to members of a ruthless armed gang has revealed that he wants to return home to Slovakia in the New Year.
The man and his girlfriend, who have called Antrim their 'home' for the last five years, were subjected to a concerted campaign of terror after they moved into the town's Springfarm estate.
Smashed bottles soon gave way to broken windows before shadowy figures stepped forward to make a shocking demand.
Speaking exclusively to the Antrim Guardian this week, Dusan revealed that they wanted cash - or else he and his partner would pay an even higher price.
“A person told me that I had to pay protection money so my house would be left alone. They wanted £3,000," he said.
“I could not afford that and told them so. They said they would take my car instead. I said take it, just take it and leave me alone."
