Old Bleach: Gone but not forgotten thumbnail

EMPLOYING around 1,500 people during its peak, the Old Bleach factory in Randalstown was a beacon of hard work and success during some of the most difficult of times right up until its closure 15 years ago.
While the siren which used to sound every morning has long since been silenced, the chimney still stands proudly over the town, acting as a reminder of the company's worldwide reputation.
And it is a reputation that will no doubt linger itself for many years, given the thousands of people who worked for the company over the course of its history.
This week, the Antrim Guardian takes a trip down memory lane to revisit the factory which for generations was a rich part of the fabric of life in Randalstown.
