Another blow for Castle Mall thumbnail

YET another retailer is to depart the Castle Mall shopping complex in Antrim town centre.
Poundstretcher is having a closing down sale 'due to relocation', with rumours that the store is to move to new premises on High Street.
The news will come as another blow to Castle Mall, which has lost anchor tenants like Eason and Dunnes in recent years, with the Post Office also under threat of closure unless a franchisee can be found.
When the Antrim Guardian contacted Poundstretcher's head office last week, there appeared to be no definite plans for the existing store.
A spokesman for the company said: "We will be leaving Castle Mall. However, as regards the intentions for the existing store, we won't know what they will be until early in the New Year."
