Facelift for Antrim

ANTRIM is to benefit from free town centre WiFi and upgraded shop fronts thanks to a further £114,000 funding announcement.
The Department for Communities is providing funding of £100,000 towards the revitalisation scheme, with a further £14,000 being contributed by Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council and the Antrim Town Team.
The latest improvements will complement public realm works in Bridge Street and previous revitalisation schemes in the town.
A courtyard area will also be developed linking Railway Street to Railway Street Car Park and creating 'a more welcoming environment'.
Communities Minister Paul Givan said that the latest funding will help make Antrim town centre a more vibrant and welcoming place to visit and assist local shop owners promote their businesses.
Mayor John Scott said he was 'delighted' by the cash boost, adding that it could help regenerate the area.
