Are GPs putting extra pressure on Antrim A&E?

SIX out of seven GP surgeries in the Antrim area are closed for at least one half day every week, the Antrim Guardian can reveal.
While Antrim Area Hospital recovers from a hectic Christmas period which almost brought it to its knees, local health centres have been accused of contributing to the crisis by 'shirking their duties' with 'part-time' hours.
It would appear that clinics in Antrim, Randalstown and Templepatrick are cramming patient appointments into reduced hours.
