Young boozers hold court in Antrimís secret drinking den thumbnail

YOUNGSTERS have been caught drinking in a cubby-hole under one of Antrim's flagship civic venues.
The void under the steps at the Old Courthouse in Market Square - containing expensive air conditioning units - is guarded by heavy metal gates.
However, they were left unsecured over the weekend and on Monday morning the Antrim Guardian found evidence of drinking having taken place, with discarded cider bottles and snack packets left behind.
The den was discovered by UUP Assembly election candidate Adrian Watson at the weekend, and by Monday afternoon, a shiny new padlock was affixed.
Mr Watson revealed that he came across up to four young people under the steps after attending the scene of yet another anti-social behaviour incident nearby at an Indian Restaurant.
