‘Hitler stunt’ sparks fury thumbnail

A CONTROVERSIAL anti-abortion campaigner has sparked an explosive political row by using a public meeting in Antrim as the platform to compare former Alliance leader David Ford to Adolf Hitler.
Bernadette Smyth told a small but fervent crowd at the Dunsilly Hotel that both men shared the same contempt for unborn children - even flashing up a provocative picture of the local rep side by side with the architect of the Nazis' 'final solution'.
The former Justice Minister set himself on a collision course with the group after he tabled a Private Member's Bill at Stormont calling for a change in the law to permit abortion in cases where the foetus develops a fatal abnormality.
And according to Precious Life, which Ms Smyth fronts, there is no difference to that position and Hitler's disregard for the children with disabilities who marred his vision of an Aryan master race.
