Clarke is fall-guy
Thursday, 9 March 2017
TREVOR Clarke was the big loser when the people of South Antrim cast their votes in last week's Assembly elections.
The DUP may have won two of the five seats up for grabs - but that will be cold comfort to Mr Clarke who was finally eclipsed at the eighth and final stage of the count after a titanic struggle with Party colleague Pam Cameron.
Sinn Fein's Declan Kearney topped the poll and sealed his place at Stormont at the fourth stage of the proceedings, being joined by Steve Aiken of the UUP, former Alliance leader David Ford and the DUP's Cameron and Paul Girvan.
