Thursday, 16 March 2017
RESIDENTS of Townparks North in Antrim came out in force over the weekend to show solidarity to the 98-year old woman who was hospitalised after 'around £6,000 in cash' was allegedly stolen from her in a brazen burglary.
They gathered as a mark of respect to the frail senior citizen, who remains in Antrim Area Hospital after her traumatic ordeal.
Local woman Roberta Richards, who organised Sunday's vigil, said: "I am disgusted and saddened, as is the whole community, about what happened to this lady.
“We want to show her that we are supporting her and that we in the estate will not tolerate this type of behaviour."
A youth has appeared in court in connection with the incident.
