Court told accused boy’s family ‘not welcome in Antrim’ thumbnail

A 17-year-old youth has appeared at Antrim Magistrate's Court charged with burglary with intent to steal from the home of a 98-year-old woman and a number of other alleged offences.
The teenager, who cannot be named because of his age, faces seven charges in total - all of which relate to alleged incidents in Antrim on March 10.
The court was told that the youth 'is now fully accepting' of his guilt.
A prosecuting lawyer also said that the boy's 'family home was approached by a group of men and his mother and father were told that the family were no longer welcome in the Antrim area'.
