‘Infestation of flies’ at Antrim Hospital thumbnail

THE Northern Health and Social Care Trust admitted this week that it is currently trying to get to grips with 'an issue with flies' at Antrim Area Hospital.
The admission comes after concerned staff, warned to 'keep their mouths shut', broke cover to reveal their concerns to the Antrim Guardian.
The problem is centred around an area which acts as a store for the pharmacy and neo-natal cots.
Concerned hospital employees allege that 'up to 4,000 flies are being zapped every single day'.
“It's just disgusting," one staff member said. "An infestation of flies anywhere is horrendous but in a hospital it's even worse."
