HOLIDAYMAKERS who are being forced to abandon their vehicles due to jam-packed car parks at Belfast International Airport are now being slapped with 'illegal parking' notices.
While no fines are being issued, people using BIA are expressing increasing frustration at the lack of parking available around the airport - while the facility is frequently heralding new flights and proclaiming their highest ever passenger numbers.
Ulster Unionist councillor Jim Montgomery said this week that the airport needs to prioritise people over profit.
“People going on holidays go to an International Airport with a reasonable expectation of parking facilities," he said.
