THE DUP has moved quickly to inject some young blood into its team on Antrim and Newtownabbey Council - and they have opted for Jordan Greer, a rising star with politics coursing through his veins.
The reshuffle was forced following the shock resignation of Randalstown rep Trevor Beatty last month.
Mr Beatty, who claimed to be a descendent of King Richard III, fell on his own sword after he was caught drink driving. It emerged that the disgraced former bank manager had been toasting the success of Paul Girvan in June's Parliamentary election.
Several names were thrown into the hat to fill the sudden vacancy, but party headquarters went for the 23-year-old from Tildarg.
Mr Greer had made headlines himself three years ago when he branded the Alliance Party 'scum' on social media during an ill-tempered council election campaign - though the post was subsequently removed.
