ANTRIM and Newtownabbey Borough Council's newest member has been welcomed into the fold, while warm tributes have been paid to the drink driving DUP man who he replaced.
Tildarg man Jordan Greer (23) has been co-opted to the DUP benches following the shock resignation of Randalstown rep Trevor Beatty.
Former bank manager Mr Beatty was caught drink driving after toasting the success of Paul Girvan in June's Parliamentary election and was banned from the roads by Belfast Magistrates' Court.
Representatives from Alliance, the DUP, the SDLP and Sinn Fein paid tribute to the departing rep.
Ulster Unionist Mark Cosgrove said he too was saddened by Mr Beatty's resignation, adding that 'we are all fallible - no-one is perfect'.
