Vicious assault leads to renewed calls for CCTV thumbnail

AN irate Randalstown councillor has vowed to continue the fight to have a CCTV system installed in the town to combat anti-social and criminal behaviour.
DUP rep Linda Clarke said she was disgusted after a spree of wanton vandalism in the town and a vicious assault which left a young man unconscious and his girlfriend badly shaken.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident on New Street in the early hours of Sunday, August 6.
Vandals have also recently destroyed a number of floral displays in Randalstown.
