Allen has Alex Higgins trophy in his sights thumbnail

SNOOKER ace Mark Allen will be hoping to bring the Alex Higgins trophy back to Antrim after this week's Northern Ireland Open.
The local ace began his campaign on Monday night at the Waterfront Hall, with a 4-2 victory over Englishman Sanderson Lam.
But 'The Pistol' knows that he will have to train his sights on more formidable opponents as the tournament progresses.
The event has attracted some serious star power to Belfast - with reigning champ Mark King facing tough opposition in the form of Neil Robertson, Jimmy White, Judd Trump, John Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan and of course, Allen, as he seeks to defend his title.
