Glenavy man charged with murder thumbnail

A LOCAL man has been remanded into custody accused of murdering retired teacher Robert Flowerday.
Appearing handcuffed in the dock at Ballymena Magistrates' Court wearing a grey tracksuit, 33-year-old Michael Owens was also charged with a burglary at Mr Flowerday's Crumlin home on December 6 last year.
Unemployed Owens, from Lisburn Road in Glenavy, spoke only to confirm his details and that he understood the two charges against him.
