Sporting ladies honoured thumbnail

TWO local women have received prestigious accolades at a recent sports awards ceremony.
The SportMaker Celebration Evening brought together the winners of the 2017 Coaching, Officiating and Volunteering Awards, who were presented with awards in recognition of outstanding achievements in delivering and supporting sport at all levels within local communities.
Among those receiving awards was Randalstown Ladies Hockey player, Erin Getty, who was named Young Volunteer of the Year for her dedication to hockey on and off the field and Glenavy coach Elaine Rice, Head Coach for the NI Netball Team, who received the award for High Performance Coach of the Year, ahead of the team travelling to Gold Coast, Australia, for the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
