A WARNING has been issued to local shopkeepers after two 'well-dressed' female thieves targeted collection boxes in a Randalstown charity shop.
Hope And A Future has three shops, which generate much-needed funds for people in Shashemene, one of the poorest towns in Ethiopia.
Co-founder Kevin Keenan told the Antrim Guardian: "Two well dressed and very polite women came in and distracted the staff at the back of the shop,
“There were charity boxes at the till and we later discovered they were missing.
“One was for Marie Curie for the sale of Easter chicks and the other was for an Easter raffle that we were holding. We reckon in total about 100 has gone.
“It is especially disappointing as all the money taken would have been going towards the poor and the sick."
