ANTRIM travelled to Belfast last weekend to play Queen's University in a Senior League 1 match at Malone Playing Fields.
Early pressure from Antrim saw shots from Ian Brownlees and Alistair Reilly saved by the home keeper.
In the sixth minute a move involving Adrian Murtland, Michael Conway and a final pass from Neil McCullough, set Brownlees free, running right to left across the top of the circle to smash the ball from one of his reverse stick specials into the net like a bullet to give Antrim the lead.
Queen's won their first penalty corner of the game in the eighth minute but Heatley got his first touch of the game when he confidently kicked the ball out of the circle.
Antrim scored their second goal in the twelfth minute when McCullough drove the ball from a free hit awarded outside the 25-yard line into the circle to Stuart McIlroy who, all in one movement, swept it into the net past the helpless keeper.
Although Antrim had most of the possession, Queen's were always dangerous in their sporadic attacks but in the 16th minute they were gifted a goal to bring them right back into the game.
Reilly dithered on the ball deep in the Queen's half and was caught in possession. The ball was quickly played to the centre forward who beat the onrushing Creighton to run into the circle from the right and steer it past the advancing keeper for Mark Adamson to push it into the empty net.
The rest of the half was a scrappy affair with Antrim still having that slight edge without being able to add any further goals while defenders Adrian Murtland, Allen Mullan and Marty Orr subduing the few attacks Queen's did manage to put together.
