IF YOU are under 21 and fancy yourself as the next Graeme McDowell or Rory McIlroy, then put your golfing skills to the test and compete in the new All Ireland Antrim Boys Youth Open.
This unique, two-day competition (August 2-3), based at Allen Park and Massereene Golf Clubs, will also incorporate the Lough Neagh Youth Scratch Cup.
“This new competition seeks to challenge the cream of young golfing talent from all over Ireland," said Marie Agnew, Allen Park Manager.
“The 36-Hole competition will be played over two days - 18 holes on Day One at Allen Park Golf Course and 18 holes on Day Two at Massereene Golf Course - with all players competing on both days."
Neil Preshaw, Manager at Massereene Golf Course, said there was no shortage of talent on the local greens.
“I would encourage all aspiring young male golfers to get involved in this exciting new competition," he said.
“It is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your skills against other male golfers of a similar age and compete for a chance to win some great prizes."
Prizes will be awarded in several categories.
Overall winners - Best Gross: Lough Neagh Scratch Trophy First, Second and Third Prizes; Best Nett: First, Second and Third Prizes.
Daily Winners - Best Gross: Under 21s and Under 18s; Best Nett: Under 21s and Under 18s.
