GB Golden Girl Emma is bound for Antrim

Emma Pallant will be aiming to add to her impressive medal haul this season when she takes on a world class field in Antrim on Saturday, January 21.
NEWLY crowned European Cross Country champion Emma Pallant will be competing in the Antrim IAAF International Cross Country at Greenmount on Saturday, January 21.
The event is shaping up to be a great all-rounder as it incorporates the NI and Ulster Senior Cross Country Championships as well as being part of the McCain Challenge and Athletics NI Cross Country League.
It is organised by governing body Athletics NI with Antrim Borough Council key sponsors.
The 22-year-old Aldershot woman was a clear winner just before Christmas in Valenje, Slovenia where she took the European U23 title by a full five seconds from team mate Naomi Taschimowitz.
This ensured that the GB team scored a remarkably low 14 points to take gold from silver medallists Germany.
Emma's win is the most significant achievement of her career to date and is the icing on the cake following her bronze medal in last year's European Cross Country Championships in Albufiera.
The 2008 World Junior 1,500 metres bronze medallist used her track abilities to full effect in Slovenia where she made a break with one kilometre of the race remaining.
The flat, hard course suited her much better than the muddy, GB trials venue in Liverpool where she only finished fourth.
Emma will now build on this success to see if she can make a rostrum position at Antrim.
