Telford sacked as ex-Watford player takes over at Crewe
Thursday, 1 December 2016
COLIN Telford has been sensationally sacked as manager of Crewe United - and been replaced by former Watford and Northern Ireland player Peter Kennedy.
Telford said that he was shocked by the decision coming, as it did, on the back of a string of good results.
“Our record over the last ten games was - won seven, drew one and just one defeat," he said.
“I haven't had an explanation and the players don't know why I have been sacked either."
As well as his time in the Premiership with Watford, Kennedy also had spells at Notts County, Wigan Athletic and Peterborough United, and won 20 caps for Northern Ireland.
He took his first step into management at the start of this season.
