Matthew McCoy is going strong!

A RANDALSTOWN strongman has proved his mettle by coming fifth in the World's Strongest Junior competition in Canada.
Matthew McCoy, who has competed in Ultimate Strongman events for a number of years, was pitted against 11 other entrants from across the globe in the show which aired on Dave over the festive season.
The 22-year-old impressed at the competition, winning two out of eight events on his way to fifth place.
In the 83kg dumbbells, he managed 12 presses, breaking the world record as he claimed the top spot.
He then impressed further in the car deadlift and as first to step up in the event, he was arguably facing the most pressure to set a time which his fellow strongmen were unable to beat.
Keeping his cool, he held the car for an incredible two minutes - his nearest rival fell short at one minute thirty seconds while the rest were 'catapulted' out of the frame long before.
“I could have held it for longer!" Matthew said.
