Cheltenham honour for former champion jockey

LOCAL racing legend Sir Tony McCoy is to have a statue unveiled in his honour at next month's Cheltenham Festival.
The Moneyglass man will be in attendance when a life-size bronze version of himself is unveiled on the opening day of the racing festival on March 14.
The bronze statue by Dublin-based sculptor Paul Ferriter will sit at the Best Mate Plaza at the north entrance to the racecourse, where he recorded 31 festival wins, including two Cheltenham Gold Cups and three Champion hurdles.
