ANTRIM Rovers Football Club has triumphed at the inaugural Antrim and Newtownabbey Council Sports Awards by winning the prestigious title of Sports Club of the Year.
Despite strong competition in the category from Antrim and Ballymena Athletics Club and the Knights Wheelchair Basketball Club, Rovers officials Sandra Bownes, Alvin Pierce, Mike Sloan and Karen Logue were delighted when their club came out on top.
“This achievement represents a very proud moment in the club's history and delivers well deserved recognition for the hard work and growth that the club have been enjoying over recent years," said a spokesperson.
Over 200 people attended the glittering awards ceremony, which was hosted by UTV's Denise Watson in the Theatre at the Mill.
