Sophie ‘thrilled’ by the rapid rise of Balnaslow thumbnail

THERE'S nothing slow about Balnaslow - the Parkgate-trained racehorse that has picked up impressive wins at both the Cheltenham festival and Aintree in recent weeks.
And at his side was 22-year-old Sophie Bell, his caring groom who prepares him for each race.
Balnaslow, or 'Eddie' as he is nicknamed, is one of ten thoroughbreds in training at the yard of Graham McKeever, and Sophie reckons he is a bit of a 'dude'.
The gelding is owned by 90-year-old racing fanatic Peggy Hagan.
“It's been a great few weeks, he has really come into his own," said the local woman.
