Town U16s lose cup final but win plaudits thumbnail

IT WAS a case of so near yet so far as Randalstown U16s failed in their bid the win the Ulster Cup at Kingspan Stadium on Saturday.
Despite an early converted try, the boys ran out of steam against their Virginia counterparts who had the benefit of 'fresh legs' on the subs' bench to take the pressure off.
Nonetheless, the same drive and commitment that carried the boys to the home of Ulster rugby shone through in their efforts.
Coach Nigel Gilbert said: "We are very proud of the lads. They exceeded anything we could have expected of them."
