Cars and coffee against cancer

STAFF at Antrim’s Performance Alloys are gearing up for their second annual Cars and Coffee Against Cancer fundraiser in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Following a hugely successful event last year, which saw an incredible £1,560 raised in donations and more than 100 cars attending from all over Northern Ireland, the team are looking to go even bigger and better this time around.

Luxury, high-performance and classic cars and bikes are invited to the Performance Alloys store in Antrim Business Centre on Friday, September 28 at 7pm.

The event will feature freshly brewed coffee, tea, cakes and a barbecue for all guests plus music and entertainment.

Like last year’s event, there will be a raffle on the night with heaps of goodies to be won including free sets of alloy wheels from some of the world’s biggest wheel manufacturers, plus discount vouchers, t-shirts, jackets, hats and more.

Performance Alloys’ General Manager Michael Morrison said: “Macmillan is a fantastic charity that provides much-needed care and support to anyone affected by cancer, their family and their friends.

“It’s a cause that’s very close to the hearts of everyone at Performance Alloys, and we were absolutely delighted to be able to raise as much as we did last year.

“However, this year I know we can do even better.

“We’ve got some great raffle prizes to give away courtesy of some amazing sponsors who have really gone above and beyond to support us and we’re expecting a great turnout of some brilliant cars from all over the country.”

Donations and raffle ticket purchases can be made on the night, online via the Performance Alloys website or by texting code JAM AGJ8 to 70550.

All proceeds raised on the night will go directly to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Mr Morrison added: “We couldn’t have been more pleased or more grateful for the turnout at last year’s event and we would absolutely love to be able to say that we’ve once again been able to go above and beyond.

“Any support at all is greatly appreciated and the team is really looking forward to this year’s Cars and Coffee event.

“Everyone is welcome whether they’re bringing a car along or not, and as well as helping to raise funds for such a vital charity it’s also a great opportunity to just grab a coffee and a burger, enjoy the event and have a bit of craic.”
