Police issue appeal but why did they not go to the scene of the crime?

THERE have been calls for more police on the streets after an attack on a taxi and more anti-social behaviour in Randalstown.

DUP rep Linda Clarke issued the call after a taxi driver and his two passengers escaped injury following a stone attack in Randalstown but there were no police officers available to attend - despite the driver making attempts to detain youths believed to be responsible.

A police spokesperson later confirmed to the Guardian that officers were unavailable due to responding to an ‘immediate risk to life call’ at the same time.
