THIS month saw the culmination of the Fiddle and Five String country music club’s year with a cheque for £1,000 being presented to the Motor Neurone Disease Society at the music evening in Randalstown rugby club.
District organiser Stephen Thompson was delighted to receive the donation on behalf of the society and expressed his gratitude to the club for their support of this worthy cause, research for which is severely under-funded in a hard-pressed health system.
He said he was aware of the excellent work the club had done over the years for various local charities and wished them every success for the forthcoming years.
The cheque was presented by Fiddle & Five chairman Kenneth Steele, secretary Ronnie Watson, treasurer Anne Gribben and the club committee.
The club’s next event will be on Wednesday, December 5 with when the entertainment will be provided by the ever-popular Davy Lee and friends.
