O2 ring the changes

THE battle to rejuvenate Antrim town centre begins this week, with O2 electing to move their local base from the Castle Mall into a new unit on High Street.

From this Friday (January 18), the mobile phone giant will occupy a street-front unit at 55-59 High Street (previously Peacock’s).

The company is also moving its Franchise Head Office and training services into office space at the back of the same building.

Part of the premises is already rented by The Base training unit run by the Health and Social Care Trust.

Developer Karl Group is also hoping to attract more tenants, including a cafe, and aims to open the back of the building on to the Six Mile Water boardwalk, allowing pedestrian access to the Castle Gardens and Bridge Street as well as the important frontage on to High Street.
