'Thanks. You're saving my life'

A BENEVOLENT businessman has stepped in to give a young Antrim addict the chance to finally beat his drug dependency.

Last week the Antrim Guardian spoke exclusively to a 19-year-old addict whose life had been ravaged by his cocaine addiction.

The teenager sought solace in drugs following the death of a much-loved member of his family - unaware that he was embarking on a self-destructive course that could easily send him to an early grave too.

The wealthy businessman was so moved by the teenager’s plight that he has personally intervened.

He has agreed to pick up the bill to send him on a 28-day rehab programme at The Hygrove in Gloucester.

It is understood that the local teenager will travel this Thursday (January 17) to the 32-bed Georgian mansion set in 40 acres of land to begin his treatment.
