After low-key campaign the people must decide

AFTER weeks on the campaign trail, voters will finally get the chance to reshape their council on Thursday.

As campaigns go, it has been remarkably low key. Political careers may be on the line, but there has been precious little verbal jousting on the hustings.

Yes, posters were hung and leaflets dutifully dropped through letterboxes, but the campaign itself was curiously quiet. Flat even.

If this was a battle for the hearts and minds of Antrim and Newtownabbey, there were few shots fired in anger. In fact there were few fired at all.
