Major upset in Minor Cup

MUCKAMORE Fourths travelled to Laurelvale on Saturday to play CSNI Fourths in the final of the Minor (Lindsay) Cup.

Muckamore batted first and were bowled out for only 137 runs.

Their top batsmen were M Mohandas with 41 runs, D Jose with 32 runs and B George with 19 runs.

Best of the CSNI bowlers were J Gibson who took three wickets for four runs, J Neill who took three wickets for 13 runs and M Smyth who took three wickets for 22 runs.

CSNI replied to score 142 runs for the loss of only four wickets to win the game by six wickets.

Their top batsmen were J Gibson with 44 runs, A Amit with 36 runs and M Smyth with 24 runs not out.

Best of the Muckamore bowlers were A Oduvelil who took two wickets for 35 runs and J Jogin who took one wicket for 26 runs.

On Wednesday evening the team travel to Eaton Park to play Ballymena Thirds in their next league match.

Then on Sunday they travel to Ballygomartin to play Woodvale Thirds in the league.
