Antrim boxers fighting fit at the Belfast Open

ANTRIM Boxing Club members certainly punched above their weight when they took part in the recent Hallowe’en Belfast Open Championships.

Four of the local boxers outfought their opponents to pick up gold - while a fifth had to be content with a silver.

The golden boys and girls were Nicole Clyde, Jack Douglas, Deanna Parke and Eddie Stokes.

Kieran Reilly gave an excellent display in the ring but unfortunately on this occasion, he just missed out on the top prize.

Kieran had a chance to redeem himself at the weekend when he competed for an Ulster title but unfortunately he was beaten again - but by a much closer margin.

He was joined at the event by fellow Antrim boxer Harry Graham, winner of the recent ‘County Antrim Threes’, who won his quarter-final bout on Saturday with a great performance against a tough opponent from Newry but was narrowly defeated on Sunday in his semi-final against an experienced boxer from Silverbridge.
