SOUTH Antrim MP Robin Swann has visited Crumlin United Football Club to celebrate the completion of a newly resurfaced car park, a project made possible through significant investment from the Landfill Tax Community Fund via Crosshill Enviro.

During the visit, Mr Swann met with club representatives Geoff Wilson and Tom Peake, alongside Stephen Gibson from Crosshill Enviro, to see the improvements first-hand.

The project result follows introductions by Swann between the club and the fund following a meeting with Crosshill Enviro.

The South Antrim MP, who supported the club throughout the grant application process, praised the partnership as a win for the local community.

Mr Swann commented: “I am delighted to see this project come to fruition.

“It is fantastic to see a local business like Crosshill Enviro supporting a community sports club like Crumlin United.

“I was pleased to play a part in making the initial introductions and supporting the grant process.

“It is also a great boost to the local economy that a local contractor was used to carry out the resurfacing work.

“This new infrastructure will provide a safer, more accessible environment for players, families and supporters.”

The Landfill Tax Community Fund enables landfill operators to support community or environmental projects in the vicinity of landfill sites.

The new car park represents a major upgrade to the club’s infrastructure, ensuring it can continue to serve the growing needs of its members and the wider Crumlin area.
