The Kickhams Creggan Gaelic for Mothers and Others team has undertaken the trip of a lifetime, heading across the Atlantic to take part in the prestigious New York Ladies GAA Festival of Football event in Rocklands.

The lively bunch of footballers have kicked, laughed, and cheered their way into the soul of ladies’ football, and proudly represented their club and county on the international stage.

The festival is a celebration of Gaelic games, camaraderie, and craic, where 27 teams from across Ireland and three from New York gathered to share their passion for ladies football.

The team’s journey has been made even more special thanks to the generous support of Tullyglass House Hotel, who have sponsored brand-new playing jerseys and training gear for the squad.

The sleek new kit ensured the Creggan ladies looked the part as they took to the pitch in the Big Apple.

Speaking ahead of the trip, team members expressed their excitement and gratitude: “This is more than just football—it’s about friendship, fitness, and flying the flag for our club. We’re so thankful to Gus at Tullyglass House Hotel for backing us and helping make this dream a reality.”

The Mothers and Others initiative, supported by the LGFA, encourages women of all ages and abilities to get involved in Gaelic football in a fun, non-competitive environment.

“Kickhams Creggan’s G4M&O team has grown steadily over the last decade, fostering a strong sense of inclusion, empowerment, and joy through sport.”

As they embarked on their New York adventure, the team carried with them the pride of their club, their families, and the wider community.
