ANTRIM Golf Club’s annual end of season prize giving took place recently at Mulligan’s Restaurant in Antrim.

Lady golfers and Past Captains gathered to celebrate individual successes and the 25th anniversary of the formation of the Ladies Branch of the club.

Lady Captain Shireen McCambridge presented the prizes.

Prizes were awarded to 24 different ladies with winning scores in the Tuesday Nine-Hole competition.

This is a very popular weekly event with Kim Fee winning eight competitions and the McAllister Nine-Hole Trophy.

Prizes were also awarded to ladies who regularly play Senior Nine-Holes instead of the 18-Hole Competitions on Friday or Sunday. Anita Joyce was awarded the Anne Griffin Trophy.

Over the 2024 season ladies achieved great results. 10 ladies showed great skill in attaining a two at a hole. Vicki Peacocke scored three twos over the season.

The Par tree was won by Brenda McGarry, along with the Ringer and the Birdie Tree.

Within the club the Singles Matchplay was won by Lauren May Ong with Maura McCaw winning the Plate competition.

The Foursomes Matchplay was won by Colette Hennessy and Geraldine Quinn.

The 18-Hole Trophy and Cup competitions run from April to September with voucher competitions in March and October and were presented by Lady Captain Shireen to numerous ladies.

Brenda McGarry received the overall Player of the Year, presented by the Lady Captain.

Two new Cups were presented this year. The Totten 25th Anniversary Cup was won by Roisin McCann and the Logan 18 Hole Player of the Year Cup was awarded to Brenda McGarry.

All ladies enjoyed the evening, the meal with celebration cake and the presentation of the Trophies, Cups and Vouchers.
