Dance music pioneer hails local band for their cover of legendary club hit

ANTRIM indie band Red Eye Pariah has received the backing of a dance music legend after covering one of his greatest hits.

The band is set to release of a live studio cover of ‘Touch Me’ by Rui Da Silva on 24th March.

Known for their unique blend of multiple genres including dance, hip hop, indie, pop and everything in between - Red Eye Pariah have gained a reputation for their energetic live performances and dynamic sound.

Their latest release showcases the band's versatility and creativity as they reimagine the classic dance track with their own signature style.

Recorded in a live session at High Voltage Studios, the cover captures the raw energy and passion that Red Eye Pariah is known for.

The band’s frontman, Deano Kelly, delivers an emotive performance with his distinctive vocals, while the rest of the band - consisting of Sammy Stevenson on guitar and backing vocals, Alex Close on bass, and Joe Dawson on drums - provides a driving, infectious rhythm.

‘Touch Me’ was originally released in 2001 and became an instant classic, topping charts worldwide and cementing Portuguese DJ Rui Da Silva’s status as a pioneer of electronic dance music.

Red Eye Pariah’s cover pays homage to the original while also adding their own unique spin, resulting in a track that is both nostalgic and fresh.

Upon announcement Rui Da Silva reached out to the band to get a preview of their version of his song.

He quickly gave his seal of approval stating that the track ‘sounds great’ and he is ‘thrilled to hear (his) song reborn!’.

“We’re thrilled to release this cover, it’s become a staple of our set.” said Deano Kelly.

“It’s a track that we’ve loved for years, and we had so much fun putting our own spin on it. We can't wait for everyone to hear it.”

‘Touch Me’ by Red Eye Pariah will be available on all major streaming platforms on 24th March.

Following this they have several shows lined up including Headlining Belfast's Limelight on 21st April, Bennigans, Derry, on April 22nd, and supporting former Kasabian Frontman, Tom Meighan, in Belfast as part of his UK tour.
