ALLIANCE MLA John Blair and party collague Councillor Neil Kelly have visited Moylena Grove in Antrim have said that recent works carried out by DfI Street lighting and footway repairs ‘have not met with residents’ approval’.

Mr Blair has said “It is concerning to see the state of the footways and roads in Moylena Grove following recent works by DfI to install new Street lighting.

“The footways have existing brick paving which now highlights the unsightly trenches that have been dug and filled in tarmac following the street lighting works. I have written to DfI to ask for clarity and rationale on the situation and have asked if any further works are to be carried out to rectify the situation on a long term basis.

“I fully understand the concern of residents at the unsightly situation which has evolved. ”

Mr Kelly added: “I was contacted by local residents following this work and I am concerned how these works that have been carried out can be left in such an unsightly manner.

“I hope DfI can provide swift answers to the residents’ concerns and that a proper solution can be found.”
