Principal 'proud' as Crumlin School celebrates Excellence in Integrated Education' award

CRUMLIN Integrated Primary School has held a vibrant celebration assembly to honour their recent achievement of the Excellence in Integrated Education Award.

The event was attended by pupils, parents and local elected representatives along with Sean Pettis, CEO of the Northern Ireland Council for Integrated Education (NICIE).

The assembly showcased the school’s commitment to integration through a series of performances by the pupils.

The students recited poetry and sang songs in Irish, Ulster Scots, and various other languages represented within the diverse student body.

The performances highlighted the school’s dedication to embracing cultural diversity and fostering an inclusive environment.

School principal Tony Young expressed his pride in the school community.

“I am incredibly proud of our staff team and pupils who demonstrate integration in action every day,” he said.

“This award is a testament to their hard work and commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive school environment.”

The celebration was a joyous occasion, reflecting the school’s ethos of unity and respect for all cultures.

The presence of local MLAs and NICIE staff underscored the significance of the award and the school’s role in promoting integrated education in Northern Ireland.

The Northern Ireland Council concluded that Crumlin Integrated Primary School ‘continues to set a high standard for integrated education, ensuring that every child feels valued and included’.
