TRIBUTES have been paid to a popular Antrim publican.
Brian Heffron, from Tannaghmore and lately Randalstown, ran Barney’s Bar in Market Square.
He passed away suddenly on Thursday 25th September.
He is survived by wife Carmel, children Paul, Danny and Michelle and was the son of the late Barney and Mary.
He was grandfather to Oisin, Grace, Saorla, Eimear and Paídi, and brother of Patsy, Theresa (Mallon), Seamus, Raymond, Damian, Brendan and the late Shaun.
A family notice said: “Deeply regretted by his sorrowing wife, sons, daughter, daughters-in-law Sarah-Jayne and Sinead, brothers, sister, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, grandchildren, nephews, nieces and all the wider family circle and friends.
A statement from Barney’s Bar & Off Sales, Antrim said: “With deep sadness and regret of passing of our boss Brian Heffron, you will be sorely missed by all your staff and customers, thinking of Carmel Danny Paul and Michelle and the whole Heffron family at this sad time, rest in peace.”
Mr Heffron’s funeral took place from his late residence on Craigstown Road, for Requiem Mass in St. MacNissi’s Church, Randalstown on Monday, after which he was laid to rest in the in adjoining cemetery.
