OVER one hundred guests were welcomed to Mossley Mill for the Community and Voluntary Christmas Celebration to recognise local volunteers and the work they do across the Borough.
The evening also celebrated local talent, including the Courtyard Community Choir who greeted guests with an array of festive carols, as well as young musician, Elijah Underwood, a recent recipient of the Joan Christie Bursary Award, who entertained guests during the evening.
Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Leak Kirkpatrick commented: “The Community and Voluntary Christmas Celebration is all about celebrating the people who make Antrim and Newtownabbey such a special place.
“I’d like to personally thank all the volunteers and community groups in our Borough, for their commitment, dedication and invaluable contribution to our Borough.”
The event raised just under £1000 for the Mayor’s three charities; The British Deaf Association, The Macmillan Unit, Antrim Hospital and All About Us – ASD Teens, Antrim.
