ST Benedict’s College in Randalstown proudly hosted its Annual Prizegiving Ceremony recently during an afternoon dedicated to celebrating the outstanding achievements of its pupils.

The school was honoured to welcome legendary GAA figure Davy Fitzgerald as the special guest for the occasion.

Fitzgerald is a former Clare goalkeeper, two-time All-Ireland winner, All Star recipient and one of the most respected managers in modern hurling - and he brought a sense of inspiration and excitement to the event.

His remarkable journey from the pitch to the sideline has motivated players and supporters across the country, and his presence made this year’s ceremony particularly memorable.

Alongside the Board of Governors, the College was delighted to welcome esteemed guests from local feeder primary schools, sports clubs, parish communities and local government.

Their attendance highlighted the strong and valued partnerships that support the young people of St. Benedict’s.

The evening celebrated a wide range of accomplishments, including academic excellence, sporting success, creativity, leadership and contributions to school life.

One of the proudest moments came as students walked onto the stage to receive their awards - each step a reflection of hard work, commitment and determination.

Special recognition was given to the school’s outstanding GCSE results, with 98% of students achieving five or more GCSEs at grades A–C*, an achievement that reflects both student effort and the dedication of staff.

The event remains one of the most special dates in the school’s calendar, offering a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the past year, celebrate success and encourage students to continue striving for excellence. St. Benedict’s College extends heartfelt thanks to all who joined in honouring the achievements of its young people. A proud evening for the entire school community.

St. Benedict’s now looks forward to its next major event - the College Open Night on Tuesday 13th January, where all P6 and P7 prospective pupils and their families are warmly invited to explore life at the school.

It will be ‘a wonderful opportunity to meet staff and students, discover the College’s vibrant learning environment and see firsthand what makes St. Benedict’s such a special place to learn and grow’.
