CREAVERY PTA put on a Christmas extravaganza for pupils and their families, with over 100 people enjoying the outdoor festivities.
The school grounds were transformed into a magical wonderland, with thousands of lights illuminating the school's gardens, barn and woodland.
The children, who had packed up their bags on a normal Friday afternoon, could not believe it was still their same school, which they had left just a few hours previously!
Mrs Claus arrived from the North Pole and welcomed the boys and girls into Creavery’s cosy cabin, where she told them Christmas stories and shared her special gingerbread biscuits.
Christmas crafts in the barn gave everyone the opportunity to use their creativity to make Christmas trees and reindeer pine cone decorations to take home. Letters were written to Santa and posted in the special Creavery post box.
There were glow-in-the-dark tattoos, selfie opportunities, a Christmas quiz and of course hot chocolate for everyone.
Faces old and new were warmly welcomed by the Creavery ‘family’.
Some past pupils returned, alongside friends from Creavery Tots and Co, as well as pre-school children who had received special invitations to the event, when they attended Creavery Primary School's Open Day earlier that week.
A twinkling trail lit up the whole way around the school grounds, with a welcome stop off to toast marshmallows over a turf fire in the woodland.
A wonderful night was had by everyone.
When asked what the highlight of the evening was, one pupil gave the answer ‘everything!’
The busy PTA then held a Christmas wreath evening, to help boost school funds. Everyone produced their own unique and environmentally friendly wreath.
Willow harvested from the school’s willow tunnel was woven into rings for the wreaths and decorations included dried flowers and seed heads from Creavery’s pollinator garden.
Creavery pupils have been practicing hard for their Christmas Nativity and Show, which will be held in St. Saviour’s Church Hall, Kells on Thursday 18th December at 9.30am.
