LOUGH Neagh Rescue has expressed condolences after being involved in the recovery of a missing person at the weekend.
The organisation was tasked by PSNI Antrim and Newtownabbey to assist in the search in the Antrim area on Sunday February 1st.
A spokesperson said: “Our volunteers carried out an extensive search of the Six Mile River and Antrim Bay, utilising all available assets. Regrettably, during the course of the search operations, the missing person was located.
“Our thoughts are with the individual’s family and friends at this heartbreaking time. Lough Neagh Rescue would like to thank all partner agencies, Community Rescue Service and Search & Rescue Dog Association - SARDA Ireland North and members of the community who supported the search efforts.”
