The Shield impresses

SO how did you spend the half-term break?

Well, for rising darts star Lee Shields it was an opportunity to head across the Irish Sea to take part in the Scottish Open!

In the doubles, paired with Darren Mac, ‘The Shield’ put on a fantastic display to reach the quarter finals.

“I couldn’t ask for a better doubles partner. Thanks mate!” said Lee.

“I feel incredibly proud, especially since it’s my first time playing in Scotland.

Truly talented

“We faced some truly talented opponents and I’m grateful for everyone’s support and encouragement throughout.”

In the individuals, playing against adults, the Parkhall College student was eliminated at stage 2 - but he still made his mark.

“I had the highest average in my group and was hitting big numbers,” he said.

“It wasn’t my overall score that let me down this time, but my doubles.

“Still, I’m determined to keep going!”
