Rugby honour for Dr John

AS part of their 150th Anniversary, the IRFU recently awarded 100 volunteers from across the island with a special ‘Service to Rugby Medal’ to mark their significant contribution to grass roots rugby.

Randalstown RFC are delighted that their very own Dr John Curry was one of those who received this prestigious award.

John is ingrained into the heart of Randalstown rugby, and is fondly known by members of clubs across the province.

Having sat on the committee of the club for over 40 years, John has made a significant contribution both on and off the pitch, and has always been a source of support for the members for anything they need.

In typical John Curry style, he doesn't see this award as a celebration of him, but as a celebration of all of Randalstown RFC.

He says without the members and volunteers and the work they do, the club would not be the place he chose to dedicate so much of his time to.
